WE MOURN THE SUDDEN PASSING OF OUR FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE OF 22 YEARS
Gregory J. Kowalski passed away at the age of 64 on December 16, 2020. He was a formidable advocate for his clients, a legal scholar, and a devoted husband to his wife, Azita, and father to his two daughters, Daria and Donya.
Throughout his 22 years with our firm, Greg worked tirelessly for the clients, while epitomizing the true definition of an “Esquire” that being, a “Gentleman.” Greg was not only well respected, but he was also liked by clients, lawyers, and judges. His ability to argue the finer points of the law, along with his trademark black-framed glasses and thick white hair led to many judges and lawyers referring to him as “The Professor.”
Greg’s dry wit was a daily source of laughter at our firm. When conferring with him concerning legal issues or trial strategy, he would smile at the end of the conversation, offering “there will be no charge for that.” Greg would never shy away from work and was eager to attack all challenges. Over his career, he was proud to represent numerous longshoremen. His hard work, loyalty, and devotion to the legal profession were clear to everyone. He was rock solid. Personally, Greg was affable, humble, and unassuming. He enjoyed spending time in Ocean City with his family and loved to discuss vintage cars.
Greg was born in Philadelphia, raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and lived with his family in Lumberton, New Jersey. He graduated from California State University Hayward in 1977 before attending Temple University Law School where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 1988.
Greg will be missed by us and all who knew him. God bless him and his family. May he rest in peace.
